Parnell is a place where ‘amazing’ and ‘incredible’ live just around the corner from each other, and where timeless heritage rubs shoulders with the bright, modern lights of tomorrow.

It’s also where business meets up with pleasure for a perfectly served coffee or gastronomic adventure. From the many enchanting nooks and crannies to its broad open spaces filled with the scent of roses, Parnell is connected to history, connected to transport and connected by a vibrant population of Aucklanders who are passionate, artistic and eclectic explorers of both the old and new.

Parnell is the Space to Be.

Parnell is certainly the space to be to welcome in the Year of the Rooster from 28th January 2017. We have a unique exhibition of rooster art pieces being exhibited in Parnell before being auctioned for Starship, a day of cultural performances, a photographic exhibition called ‘Being Chinese in Aotearoa’ at Auckland Museum, then culminating with the fantastic Auckland Lantern Festival taking place at The Domain from the 9-11th February.

ROOSter EXHIBITION, 28 Jan-12 Feb

Over 35 artists and a few celebrities, including locals Chrystelle Baran and Jane Daniels, have joined in the fun by creating a range of flamboyantly flashy rooster art pieces. This unique exhibition will showcase 38 life-sized rooster art sculptures over the two weeks of Chinese New Year in various Parnell galleries and select retailers before being auctioned for charity.

Heard Park on Parnell Road will come alive to the sights and sounds of a slice of China on Saturday 4 February as the Chinese New Year celebration excitement builds. From 11.00am-2.00pm, children and families can join in the fun with a range of live performances. Learn Qigong, then relax to the sounds of a Chinese musical ensemble. Find out more

Auction of rooster art works, Thursday 16 February
